Digital identity as a service
Turn documents and images into useful process data
Direction Biometrics combines Recognition and Biometrics components delivered as libraries or APIs. It uses artificial intelligence, computer vision and OCR to support onboarding, document checks and digital identity journeys.
Integrable components
From documents to identity confirmation
RecognitionDocument recognition and photo analysis
Identify document type, prepare images and extract relevant fields as structured integration output.
- Document detection, cropping, alignment and perspective correction
- OCR and extraction of names, CPF numbers and dates
- Format, required-field and CPF validation
- Single-face detection, framing and photo standardization
BiometricsBiometric enrollment and verification
Guided capture, quality assessment, face detection and template preparation for enrollment or 1:1 comparison.
- Enrollment and verification sessions through APIs
- Rejection of no-face, multiple-face or insufficient-quality captures
- Technical facial feature extraction and 1:1 comparison
- Planned controls for PAD, consent, auditing and retention
The Biometrics module is under controlled validation. Production decisions require calibration, approved policies and security controls for each deployment.
Recognition
Supported Brazilian documents
Models target official documents and common onboarding evidence. Coverage can be expanded after analysis and training.

Libraries and APIs
Integrate with your existing workflow
Direction sizes the service according to volume, documents, business rules and desired responsibility level.
- 1
Secure submissionYour application submits a document, image or capture under the integration contract.
- 2
Specialized processingComponents run recognition, validations and quality analysis in the selected infrastructure.
- 3
Structured responseResults and diagnostics are returned by API to guide automation or human review.
Direction infrastructure
Processing hosted in our data center
The service can run on Direction's high-availability infrastructure, reducing the need for customers to maintain specialized servers while centralizing deployment, monitoring and evolution.
- Resources sized for AI processing
- High availability, replication and backups according to scope
- Protected integration and operational observability

Direction Biometrics FAQ
How can the service be integrated?
Through function libraries or APIs, depending on platform, volume, security and customer architecture.
Which documents can be recognized?
Current coverage includes digital and scanned driver's licenses, multiple RG models, digital CIN and CTPS documents, and supported proof-of-address documents. New documents require analysis and training.
Does the result eliminate human review?
Not necessarily. Automation and review depend on process rules, result confidence, risk and customer policies.
Can biometrics already approve users in production?
The module is under controlled validation. Production decisions require calibration, approved policies, consent, retention, key security and scenario testing.
Where does processing occur?
The service can be hosted on Direction infrastructure with project-sized resources and controls.
